The Vortex 250 Pro is another great ready-to-fly racing drone and it’s a direct competitor to the TBS Vendetta. It’s about the same size, but a bit heavier and comes with two bladed propellers instead of three like the vendetta. Typically, two bladed props will be slightly more efficient, but three bladed props have more power and a crisper flight characteristic to them. You can change the props on both quadcopters if you want to, but then the flight controller will have to be re-tuned.
It is a foldable quadcopter combining ease of flight with a range of full-fledged features and a high-quality camera. It can take 4K videos and high-quality stills. Though it has a remote control, you can also fly it using a connected smartphone. There are also several automated tracking modes for getting excellent shots and it has a decent range of 4 km.
That said, price is a key consideration for most people, and luckily there are a lot of excellent budget options out there now for those that don't want to spend as much on their new toy as on a used car. Beyond that, there's camera integration and quality, as well as how compatible each drone is with the best drone accessories. We selected the best options across a wide range of budgets and use cases, to spare you some shopping headaches and get you flying ASAP.
When the AR Drone 2.0 first came out, it was one of the coolest drones for sale on the market. It has a 1GHz 32 bit processor, 1GB of ram, gyros, accelerometers, magnetometers, a pressure sensor, an ultrasonic sensor, 2 cameras and more. Even though it’s over 2 years old, the AR Drone is still one of the most advanced quadcopters available in its price range which is $299.
I've bought about a dozen or more different micro drones over the last two years and would put this one at the top of the pack. I read the reviews and saw the problems with the charging port. As a result I've made an effort to be gentle with the charging port and have had no probles at all et. Altitude hold is a terrific feature for beginners just learning to fly these things. The auto take-off is another big plus. Very smooth acceleration was a surprise at first, after flying it for the first 5 min's I decided I liked the way it handled better than any micro drone I've owned. Slightly less flight time and a bit bigger mean it's not as 'zippy' as some like the Aukey but when flying indoor's that just translates to fewer impacts with walls and other objects. The prop guards ... full review

I haven't gotten a lot of practice with it, yet - the weather hasn't been very cooperative, and I'm nervous to fly it in windy conditions - but I managed to learn how to land it without crashing before the first battery died. Yes, first - it comes with 4 rechargeable batteries for the drone itself, and a charging cable for the display. You'll have to supply the batteries for the controller itself, but ... full review
The Mavic Air 2 (9/10 WIRED Recommends) is the drone that most people should buy. It's portable and lightweight, but it still manages to pack in a brilliant half-inch sensor for high quality images and video. Tons of automated features mean you can just fly and get the images you want, or shoot video and let the drone avoid obstacles and track your subject. You'll even get 60 frames-per-second 4K video—something that still isn't available in the more expensive Mavic 2 Pro—and Spotlight, a powerful automated flight mode pulled from DJI's pro-grade Inspire drone.
Video transmission is a vital aspect of aerial photography in that it transmits what the camera captures straight to your phone in real time. If video transmission is delayed or interfered with, you might find it difficult to control your drone’s HD camera, let alone store those carefully captured images. Advanced transmission systems support dual frequencies of both 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz for greater interference resistance, and have a long transmitting distance.
EDITED to 4 stars from 1 star. The copter had flown great initially until it didn't. So I returned the unit for refund. Then after a couple of weeks I got an unexpected email from Holy Stone asking me if they could send me a new one. I said no, I'm just asking for a refund. I was then told, no, you don't understand, you already got your refund. We just want to replace your copter for you anyway. That's outstanding service. More than I deserve but extremely impressive. They obviously place their customers and reputation above all else. Given the high marks this copter receives from others ... full review
It’s faster, too, with top speeds as high as 70 miles per hour across 20 minutes of battery life. Best of all, this is one of the most durable drones for sale out there thanks to a 4 mm carbon fiber frame, synthetic polymer bumpers, anti-vibration sponges, and rubber grommets to protect the power cables and antenna. So if you’re worried about crashing you brand new racing drone for sale, the Wizard will definitely put those fears to rest.
First of all, there’s no obstacle avoidance like you would see on DJI’s new drones, so if you lose connection with the drone, it won’t intelligently come back while avoiding obstacles. The other big drawback is that it’s a big drone that uses a lot of power, so the flight time is only about 16 minutes, and it goes down even more if you put a heavy camera on in like the X5R.
It has a 5G Wi-Fi transmission, which enhances the control range, with the controller working up to 500 meters. The flight time of the Potensic D58 is 18 minutes. The drone lets you enjoy a 3D virtual experience of the world. It comes with 2 antennas besides the camera, thereby offering additional signal strength and faster signal transmission. The dimensions are 12.9 x 12.6 x 6 inches and it weighs 2 pounds.
Having a larger sensor is nice, but for me, what really sets the Mavic 2 Pro apart from the other drones out there is the Hasselblad color science. Even if you don’t know how to work with colors in your editing software, the colors that come out of this camera are amazing just as they are with no editing.weather you’re taking pictures or video, Hasselblad’s color science is embedded throughout all the shooting modes.
The FPV feature allows you to see in real time what the drone is capturing. Although I was unable to get video of it (I only have one phone, which was paired to the drone), I can say that it worked without an issue. The only thing I would recommend is that it be used in an open space at first as you need to practice. The setup is pretty simple, the manual will come with a QR code that you need to scan with your phone and it will take you to the download page.
The TBS Vendetta is a quadcopter designed specifically for FPV (first person view) racing and freestyle flying. Today, you can find quite a few mini FPV racing drones that come ready to fly, but the Vendetta was one of the first racing drones to come out with everything you need to fly. It comes with almost everything you need to start learning to race. The only things that it won’t come with is a controller, battery, charger and FPV video goggles, but in the world of drone racing you’ll usually want to choose that stuff to fit your needs anyway.
